Onyinye Oguntoye

Communications Officer

Onyinye Oguntoye is a Communications Officer with IISD's Resilience program. She is the communications lead for the Climate Adaptation and Protected Areas Initiative and manages the initiative's strategic outreach.

Onyinye has extensive experience working at the intersection of public policy, international development, and public engagement. She has worked with global organizations such as BBC Media Action and ODI. In her most recent role at J-PAL Africa, she led the communications and engagement strategy, raising the organization’s profile and forging institutional partnerships. Onyinye has provided editorial oversight for key reports, digital platforms, and featured blogs. She has also organized global events on sustainable development themes, including gender equality, education, and climate change.

Onyinye holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Cambridge and a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Bingham University.
